Who is MATT?

Who is Coach Matt?

Hi everybody!  I was born and raised in Austin, and have been played organized sports all my life.  I started playing hockey at age 11 but about six years ago, I decided that even though I was skating three times a week, I wasn’t happy with my fitness level and overall health.  I began researching proper nutrition and found that what I eat directly impacts the way I feel. (Who woulda thought, right!?) Soon after I found myself eating ‘paleo’ before I even knew the term, and was looking to add a proper workout into the mix.  I discovered  CrossFit in October 2011 and attended my first Open Gym at CrossFit Cedar Park on Halloween.  It was weird, people were working out in costumes.  I was instantly pulled in to the camaraderie and knowledge of the staff.  It wasn’t long after that I was CrossFitting just about every day and I knew that I wanted to help others lead healthy and happy lives.  I became a CrossFit Level 1 trainer in April 2013, and look forward to continuing my education and certifications to better serve the Cedar Park community. You can catch me up at the Box pretty much every day of the week, whether working out or coaching classes.

MATT teaches the following classes – MWF – 10am (Beginners/Seniors) and 12pm at the clinic

T/TH – 5:30pm & 6:30pm – Clinic

Matt also conducts Intro Sessions, Teaches Elements and Personal Trains
