MAD Athlete Training Camp
What a great Weekend!!! MAD Athletes leveled up, PR’d in Snatch, Clean & Jerk, worked on Pose Running and Swim Technique. Some athletes faced their fears and got in the pool to swim for the first time. We had athletes from the Houston, Tyler, Temple, and San Antonio areas. Look for the next MAD Athlete Training Camp in the Fall.
What is coming up?
TAKE FLIGHT CHALLENGE FUNDRAISER
This fundraiser hits close to home. In fact, it directly impacts kids in Austin. In schools across Austin, there are kids who are struggling with Math and Science. The schools may not have the funds to work directly with these kids. The parents may not be able to provide tutoring.
Phoenix Arising Aviation takes these kids in under-served areas and provides free of charge tutoring, through the principles of aviation, to help these kids improve their math and science skills.
February 16th – we are holding a fundraiser to help Phoenix Arising Aviation. 100% of the money you raise goes directly to their programs and scholarships. This is a fantastic way to get involved and help out a great company.
Here is what you need to do
Kids ages 5 and up are welcome and will have their own category.
2. Send out emails to your friends and family and ask them to donate to your fundraising page.
3. To be eligible for prizes and a free tshirt, you need to raise $100. but if you raise $20, you will still be participating in the workout!
4. Show up on February 16th at 8:30am for the workout
5. We will have vendors on-site, t-shirt sales, Phoenix Arising Aviation will be there to answer all your questions.
6. GET INVOLVED IN YOUR COMMUNITY!!!
Class on how to improve power and strength utilizing the quintessential exercises of an Olympic Weightlifting workout. Each class includes 1) technical and moderate to high intensity work on the snatch and clean and jerk, and 2) strength work, primarily versions of squats, pulls and presses. This class is designed to accommodate both inexperienced and experienced athletes. Class limit is 10 and an 8-week commitment.
